Elegant wedding at Sandon Hall Staffordshire

The wedding of Charlotte & Tim

I met Charlotte and Tim roughly a year before their wedding day. They came to see me at the studio, where we chatted about their big day, their expectations.

The biggest thing that stood out for me about Charlotte and Tim was that family and friends were massively important to them, they wanted to be with them as much as possible so relaxed coverage was order of the day.  They didn’t want hours of posed photos, which is fantastic as that just isn’t my style. So, they had come to the right person!

Charlotte studied fashion and design at uni and also works at the family business Fortescue’s in Lichfield, a beautiful ladies outfitters. So of course ‘the dress’ was going to be gorgeous, and it was.  A Pronovias gown with a subtle blush pink skirt, and a cathedral veil to match. (I love a long veil it makes me very happy on wedding days). I did become slightly obsessed with it by the end of the day.

Tim likes cars to put it mildly, and is an instructor/driver at race days and events, getting to drive all those supercars!! I’m very jealous. The cars they had were a vintage Rolls Royce and a vintage Daimler in cream and black.

A traditional English wedding

Charlotte and Tim wanted a very traditional wedding. If I was to describe their wedding it would be “quintessential English” and I loved it.

The ceremony was at Charlottes family church, the place her grandparents and parents married, with the reception to follow at Sandon Hall, which is a 19th-century country mansion and the seat of the Earl of Harrowby.

Sandon Hall is by far one of the best venue’s I’ve ever photographed. It really is a photographer’s heaven.

The wedding day

On June 11th, 2016 the big day arrived. The weather was with us and, as luck would have it, broke with some rain as everyone sat down to eat.

As with all my wedding days, we start the day with bridal preps. I photographed Charlotte and her bridesmaids as they were getting ready. This  is one of my favourite parts of the day. The location was Charlotte’s family home, a beautiful farm in South Staffordshire.

Here are more photographs from Charlotte and Tim’s big day. Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment at the bottom.
