Back in sunny September, I had the privilege of photographing Louise and Kurt’s special day.
I first met these guys 5 weeks before their big day. They had left it a bit late to book their photographer. Luckily for them, it was the only Saturday in September that I wasn’t shooting a wedding!
They are such a lovely laid back couple with a great wedding theme, as well as one of my favourite wedding venues. I couldn’t wait. I knew it was going to a lovely relaxed day.
When I arrived at Louise’s parents’ house for bridal preps, I couldn’t believe how chilled out she was.Louise’s mum and dad made myself and Martyn feel very at home.
I caught up with Kurt at the church, looking very dapper in his threads.
Louise and Kurt like to go walking and love being outdoors so they had a very woody theme. The suits were hired from a theatrical hire company, and all the boys looked amazing!
The wedding ceremony
The ceremony was held at St Lawrence in Gnosall Staffordshire. Louise appeared in a VW camper van wearing a gorgeous Enzino beaded lace wedding dress. The ceremony went off without a hitch and then we were off to Brockton Golf club for the reception.
As normal, speeches were hilarious with the usual ribbing for Kurt from such a lovely close-knit group of men. Many were ex-forces so the banter was definitely there!
I made the most of Brockton’s gorgeous grounds on an even more gorgeous day. September really does have the best light of the year for me; so warm and hazy… (which is why I’m getting married in September this year)!
Cannock Chase in Staffordshire
Brockton Golf Club is right on the edge of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire which is a very special place nearby for Louise and Kurt.
We went for a bit of a trek to Brockton Heights. Luckily Louise had her trainers with her, (this was something we had a talked about before hand I wouldn’t drag my couples up hills if they didn’t want to)!
Anyway, off we went, with a few guests in tow too. I was able to get some absolutely breathtaking images for the two of them, one of which is probably one of my all time favourite wedding images I’ve ever taken.
Here are a few images from their day… enjoy!
